You cant play golf at the moment but you could have a laugh watching these golf based movies ranked from 5 down.

5. Caddyshack 2 (1988)
Stars: Jackie Mason, Dan Ackroyd, Robert Stack, Dyan Cannon, Randy Quaid, Chevy Chase, Jonathan Silverman, and Jessica Lundy
Jack Hartounian (Jackie Mason), a boorish but good-hearted real estate tycoon, applies for membership at a Bushwood country club, but is blackballed by the members, led by Chandler Young. As revenge, he simply buys the club outright and turns it into an amusement park. Chandler wants to win the property back by challenging Jack to a golf match, but he hedges his bets by hiring deranged mercenary Tom Everett to eliminate his competition.
Is it as good as the first one? No.
Does it have Rodney Dangerfield and Bill Murray? No.
Even still it is worth a watch. I particularly like Randy Quaid in his office meeting with the opposition lawyers, and of course Dan Ackroyd as Tom.

4. The Caddy (1953)
Stars: Dean Martin, Jerry Lewis, Donna Reed, Barbara Bates
This is an oldy but I always liked Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis who delivered this sports comedy with a touch of music.(The Caddy is notable for introducing the world to Martin’s Oscar-nominated classic crooner tune “That’s Amore.”)
Lewis stars as Harvey, the son of a golf pro who’s pressured into the family sporting business but is deathly afraid of crowds, leading him to become a golf instructor instead. His first client? None other than Martin’s character, Joe, who also happens to be Harvey’s soon-to-be brother-in-law.
The movie is also notable for featuring a number of golf cameos from Ben Hogan, Byron Nelson. and Sam Snead. Jerry getting down from a tree to tell Ben Hogan what shot to play is my favourite bit.

3. Happy Gilmore (1996)
Stars: Adam Sandler, Christopher McDonald, Julie Bowen, Frances Bay
Happy’s powerful ice hockey slapshot isn’t good enough for the pro leagues, but it might just be his ticket into a professional golf tournament. That’s the hope of both former golf legend Chubbs Peterson and Happy’s grandma, who owes nearly $300,000 to the IRS (obviously). If Happy can improve his short game to acceptable levels, he might just become the greatest golf entertainer this fictional world has ever known.( Just tap it in!!)
Lee Trevino also makes a few appearances throughout, Bob Barker isn’t a bad boxer, and of course Ben Stiller does his bit.

2. Tin Cup (1996)
Stars: Kevin Costner, Rene Russo, Don Johnson, Cheech Marin
A washed up golf pro working at a driving range tries to qualify for the US Open in order to win the heart of his successful rival’s girlfriend.
Is it a comedy? I think so.
It is hard not to be with Cheech, of Cheech and Chong fame in it. I think it just sneaks ahead of Happy Gilmore. It isn’t as funny, but it is a better golf story, and for those that have seen it Kevin Costner plays pretty well with a seven iron.
There are also a heap of cameo appearances by pro golfers, including Phil Mickelson, Craig Stadler, John Cook, Johnny Miller, Lee Janzen, Billy Mayfair, Corey Pavin, Fred Couples and Peter Jacobsen—as well as TV golf broadcasters Jim Nantz, Ken Venturi, Gary McCord and others

1. Caddyshack (1980)
Stars: Chevy Chase, Rodney Dangerfield, Bill Murray, Ted Knight
Many call it the greatest golf comedy ever made, make a case for it being the greatest golf movie, or even just one of the greatest flat-out comedies, and you’d be right on every point.
The story centres on caddie Danny Noonan in a coming-of-age comedy but he’s overshadowed by the golfers who come to the stuffy country club and one particular groundskeeper who does his best to just about blow the whole thing up. Chevy Chase is charismatic, while Rodney Dangerfield is hilarious; Ted Knight delivers villainous intent while Bill Murray is unhinged as the often-out-of-sight groundskeeper who takes on a troublesome gopher throughout the picture.
I don’t think the script was stuck to by Rodney and Bill; I think they just rolled with what they thought would be funny. Bill Murray also seems to have a thing for polly waffles!
